THE JOB The Software Developer is initially part of a two developers team with possible future expansion. He participates in the creation of an application for internal use and for the development and testing of innovative human-resource pattern-matching algorithms. The project is in its inception phase, thus affording the candidate an opportunity to participate in all stages of the design process. This project is being developed in a live environment.
THE CANDIDATE The ideal candidate must be very enthusiastic about software development, willing to learn new technologies and possesses excellent analytical and problem solving skills. The ability to work closely with others, as well as functioning independently is essential. The Software Developer’s spoken and written English must be at a strong business level. Key traits include excellent communication skills, flexibility, excellent work ethics and the ability to work in a changing environment. Proficiency with databases and the Java programming language and platform is a must. An inclination towards open-source technologies and philosophy is an asset.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent Experience: Experience in enterprise application design with a background in object oriented software design Languages: English – Fluent Assets: Java EE / JSF, Facelets, JavaScript, Spring, AspectJ, Acegi, Hibernate, Groovy, PostgreSQL, Selenium, various Java-centric development tools (Maven, ant, Eclipse IDE), declarative programming, git SCM, Linux, bash/Perl/awk scripting, agile software engineering methodologies, test driven development (TDD), design patterns
