The Job: Usually sailing out Florida
for 7 day cruises this position offers the right candidate an opportunity
to view some of the best places the Caribbean has to offer. Performing
on deck or poolside, 7 nights a week, the “one man band”
will be an essential part of the entertainment provided on board.
Surrounded by long chairs and the main pool will be the setting
for the “one man band” who will invite passengers to let
loose and have a great time to the sounds of the Caribbean while
enjoying a cold cocktail and working on their tans. Being versatile
enough to switch to more popular mainstream music will give the
“one man band” the right stuff to make each passenger’s
day and cruise one to remember. This is a daily routine that never
gets old and that offers many rewards!.
Candidate Profile: Looking for a solid
professional with experience to entertain guests in any of the ship’s
sitting areas. The favored candidate is a guitarist, who sings and
accompanies himself with sequencing equipment to sound like a full
band without the space. The traditional repertoire is wide ranging
with popular Caribbean and party music such as: Reggae, Soca, Calypso
music from the 50’s thru the 90’s as well as a working
knowledge into other styles such as Latin (Rumba, Salsa, Cha Cha,)
or other international music. Your main responsibilities are to
create a fun atmosphere where passengers can dance and enjoy a cool
drink while playing crowd favorites and special requests. A professional
attitude, exemplary conduct, good conversational English along with
talent is pre-requisite for this position. Candidates should also
have at a minimum: performing experience in resort hotels and other
similar establishments. Previous cruise ship experience is an asset.
The Deal: This job offer does not
constitute a binding agreement. The job will be yours only after

be paid in US dollars and your room and board and transportation
(from North America) will be provided to you free of charge. ProShip
will coordinate all travel arrangements (for you and your equipment)
and assist you in processing all necessary documents such as contracts,

customs declaration forms and hotel reservations (when necessary).
Life at Sea: Space is the most valuable commodity on a seagoing
vessel, the one man band guitarist usually has a single cabin. And
to ensure the ship’s cleanliness, you really will get maid
service! All meals and buffets are provided free of charge. The
food on board is good, varied and well balanced; and, because the
portions are large and the food rich, be prepared to gain a few
pounds.
